How some companies have taken the Benefits of the COVID pandemic situation

In this article, we’ll look at how some companies have taken the advantage of the COVID pandemic situation.

The one thing that I can say to everyone “Start working for yourself rather than for the company”.

In the COVID pandemic, everyone was affected even though few of the companies are really supported their employees by trying their best whatever was possible from their side. But there are companies who had taken advantages by doing such things like:

  1. No Appraisals: In 2020 we all know that 90% of the companies have not given any appraisals to any of the employees no matter whether the company had made a profit or not. Even though in pandemic HealthCare companies had also given excuses and said that they are at a loss and they can’t provide the appraisals.
  2. Micro-Monitoring: Because of the lockdown companies had no choice and they need to allow the WFH to their employees. But there are companies who had trust issues and in the pandemic as well they had installed tools to do the micro monitoring of their employees. That was the worst thing I can say.
  3. Extra Workload: Working 9–6 was better than working 12 hours. In the COVID pandemic, companies know that employees don’t have a choice and they need to work extra hours as well. Hence in WFH deadlines was became shorter and workload got increased and unfortunately, employees don’t have a choice instead of sitting for 12 hours to achieve those deadlines.
  4. Changing or making new Policies: Some of the companies had changed their entire policies taking the advantage of the situation. It was common to hear from friends that their 10–20% CTC became variable now and they don’t have the choice instead of accepting it. Not giving appraisals was fine but people have loans and other stuff so before making such policies the companies should have to think at least twice.
  5. No Appreciations: Whether you were working till late at night to achieve a deadline but no one had asked you or appreciate you for that but they had surely pointed their finger at you if you missed the morning standup or any meeting due to some personal work or any emergency.
  6. No Care for the Employees: In the profit, if they don’t think about us so why in the loss? Some of the companies including MNCs as well they didn't provide any bonus when they get profit every year. But in just a small few month's loss, they had shown us how much they really care about us. Therefore I can say “Start working for yourself (improving your skills and abilities) rather than for the company”.

The way good people exist, in the same way, good companies as well. So there were companies who had given appraisals, who have created fixed timing even in WFH for us to follow, who connected us to know about our health and our families too, who doesn’t have created any shit policies in COVID to take the advantage of it.

If you think your company has done anything for your in the COVID pandemic then stay else this is the right time to choose the right company for you who cares for an employee more than the profit.
